Kisawa featured in Wallpaper's annual Travel Issue

June: Kisawa stars in Wallpaper* magazine’s prestigious annual travel issue, featuring over 17 pages of prose and photography from journalist Sean O’Toole and photographer, Kent Andreasen, who visited us in May.

Selected because of our “ambitious resort to research” relationship with BCSS, the feature explores our bond between people and place, life and land.

By harnessing the power of luxury tourism to fund scientific projects, Kisawa Sanctuary aims to protect the Indian Ocean and it’s people“.

Sean and Kent spent days with our Kisawa team, observing the surrounding marine life and engaging with the BCSS staff, including our chief scientist, Dr Mario Lebrato. Their aim was to understand the mission of our ocean observatory, including its truly unique “open source approach to sharing data related to it’s time series monitoring of the Bazaruto Archipelago“.

We are incredibly proud of the piece and the in-depth and often technical level of research that has gone into understanding what makes us one of a kind.
