National Geographic Traveller, October Issue
September 1, 2021
Kisawa has been awarded the best ‘Castaway Island Escape’ in the UK National Geographic Traveller Hotel Awards, announced in the new issue today.
From exceptional service to cutting-edge design, the Hotel Awards acknowledge the latest tastemakers, trendsetters and game-changers in the business. Each of the 13 categories has a winner and two runners-up, meaning a total of 39 hotels received recognition in this year’s awards. The winners are chosen by a judging panel made up of travel writers, editors, hotel experts and the National Geographic Traveller (UK) team.
“After the past 18 months, these halcyon hideaway suddenly feel more enticing than ever. From ocean-side villas to secluded stays in paradise, we’ve found the most outstanding desert island escapes“.
Long time fans of the iconic publication, we couldn’t be prouder to accept the accolade, which, recognising the privacy implicit in the sanctuary, calls us a “hideaway where guests can go days without seeing another soul“.
Kisawa founder and creative director, Nina Flohr says “I spent my childhood reading National Geographic. To be recognised as the winner of the best island escape is a childhood dream come true“.
Thank you, National Geographic and congratulations to the runners up; Domaine de Martoli, Corsica and One and Only Mandarina, Mexico.
