Mozambique Tourism Visa Waiver

A new visa exemption for travellers from 29 countries

June: A new visa waiver policy has been introduced in Mozambique, meaning smoother transitions for guests through customs at our local airport, Vilankulo (VNX).

For those holding a passport from one of the 29 countries nominated in the new waiver, there is no need for pre-application and the cost is 11 USD / 10 EUR / 200 ZAR per person, in cash.

Countries included in the visa waiver are: Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Ivory Coast, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UAE, UK, Ukraine and USA.

For all other nationalities a tourism visa is mandatory and can be purchased at either Vilankulos (VNX) or Maputo (MPM) airports for 50 USD / 50 EUR / 1000 ZAR in cash.

(The VNX airport team are frequently able to utilise Amex/Credit Card machines for visa payment, however due to occasional connection issues we recommend traveling with cash).

For now, we recommend avoiding applying for the Mozambique e-visa online, as it’s not consistently accepted by customs and requires guests to pay double the amount.

For any further information or queries please contact our reservations team on reservations@kisawasanctuary.com or call: +971 4 875 2323 who consult with our airport team on the latest updates.
