Covid-19 Update

PCR test no longer mandatory

All visitors can travel to Mozambique, as long as they are fully vaccinated with vaccine certificate or hold proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test.

All arrivals other than Mozambique citizens must present a vaccination certificate or a certificate of a negative PCR test carried out within the 72 hours prior to arrival, clearly showing the name and address of the laboratory, as well as the date of the sample taken. (Visitors under 11 years old do not require a test or vaccine certificate.)

All arriving passengers must undergo a temperature check.

While in public areas of Mozambique (airport and all transport) masks are mandatory and increased sanitation is highly recommended.

Transferring through South Africa

All departing passengers on commercial flights will be required to present a vaccination certificate (valid 14 days prior to arrival) or a new negative PCR test (no more than 72 hours before departure) at the airport of Vilankulos to enter South Africa for connecting flights. The test is mandatory for all passengers except those under 5 years. Kisawa is able to organise the new PCR test on property.

Tourist visas

Visas are mandatory and can be purchased at the airport (Maputo or Vilankulos) for approx. 50 USD cash, or applied for through your national Mozambique embassy prior to travel. Kisawa recommends the pre application, to cut down on wait time at the airport. Countries not requiring a tourist visa include: South Africa, Mauritius, Angola, Botswana, Tanzania, Swaziland, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Comoros, Namibia, Jamaica.
